Square Enix has reportedly through off with its internal medicine team, egg laying off the composers trustworthy for scores in games including Dissidia, The Last Oddment and Final Fantasy.

The music team was cut for budgetary reasons, according to a report by Square Enix Medicine Online. Direct Enix will now rely in the first place on independent composers and production studios to create the scores for their games, similar to the attack taken past many Western developers, which is in the main cheaper than maintaining an interior music department. Among those affected by the cuts:

  • Masashi Hamauzu (Final examination Fantasy XIII, Dirge of Cerberus, SaGa Frontier II)
  • Junya Nakano (Final Fantasy X, Threads of Fate, Musashi: Samurai Legend)
  • Tsuyoshi Sekito (The Last Remnant, Dawn of Mana, Founder of The Bleak Mages)
  • Naoshi Mizuta (Final Fancy XI, Final Fantasy Gaiden, Founder of The Genius Onions)
  • Kumi Tanioka (Final Fancy Crystal Chronicles, Chocobo Serial publication, Code Age Commanders)
  • Takeharu Ishimoto (The World Ends With You, Dissidia, Compiling of Final Fantasy Cardinal)

The decision to close down the music team was in reality ready-made at the end of 2009 and was responsible for a number of "fit-publicized" departures from the company concluded the past few months. How mystifying the cuts actually go isn't yet realize but IT's rumored that aside from the six lead composers, the layoffs could affect synthesizer operators, sound programmers and separate related staff.

Among the contractors the publisher testament "bank extensively" on are the studios operated by former Square Enix composers Nobuo Uematsu, Hitoshi Sakimoto, Yoko Shimomura, and Kenji Ito. Some of the composers contrived by the shutdown, each of whom had been with the party for 12 to 15 long time, could also receive themselves working in a connatural capability, creating music for Square Enix games as independent musicians.
